Glyphosate Approved as Safe to Use by US EPA!

An absolute mind boggling news article was shared by Robert F. Kennedy Jnr last week (I have attached it below).

That the US EPA has openly stated in this article that Glyphosate which is the active ingredient in the pesticide Round Up is not a carcinogen and is safe claiming it doesn’t pose a danger to humans and have re-approved the chemical just totally defies logic in the face of all the damning studies showing otherwise.

There have been so many lawsuits filed against Monsanto – the makers of Glyphosate – with the most well known landmark case being that of terminally ill DeWayne Johnson, the 46 year old groundskeeper & pest manager in a San Francisco school where the court ruled in his favour, finding that Glyphosate exposure did in fact contribute to his cancer.  He was awarded $289 million in damages last year.

Many lawsuits have been launched yet again in light of this current news, with one stating that the “EPA has ignored warnings from scientists, environmentalists, and medical experts who cautioned about the serious health and environmental harms of continued use of glyphosate”.

Basically, Round Up is a herbicide.  It is a known antimicrobial, antibiotic, and a chelating agent that takes minerals out of any systems it comes in contact with.

This chemical directly affects many pathways in our bodies and our gut microbiome.  The scientific literature is plentiful, clearly documenting the adverse health effects it causes to human health and that it contributes to antibotic resistance amongst a multitude of other effects.

In 2015, the International Agency for the Research of Cancer (IARC) classified Glyphosate as a ‘probable carcinogen’ yet that Monsanto and the US EPA can still say its safe to use is ludicrous.

In a nutshell, glyphosate is sprayed on plants just prior to harvesting them, its sprayed on weeds in most peoples gardens and used liberally by councils on footpaths, parks and playgrounds.  It is also heavily used by farmers to spray the crops we eat.

It is a water soluble chemical meaning is dissolves in water.

We humans are made up of over 70% water!!! What do we think happens to glyphosate when ingested through contaminated foods we eat and when it runs off agricultural land into the water we drink?

Connect the dots and follow the research …. can you link the exposures?

And this is but one chemical.  Have a think and look into the rise in the incidence of diseases over the last 50 years especially in farming areas.

We must start to become aware of what is happening to our food and our environment to protect health and life on the planet.

Coincidentally, our podcast released last week is an awesome interview with the legendary and brilliant Cyndi O’Meara who has spent her life educating people about nutrition and is an activist raising awareness about the dangers and the overuse of glyphosate.

My colleague Simone shared a document with me, that Cyndi has created including a letter you can send/email to the Australian Pesticide and Veterinary Medicine Authority and your local council detailing the objection you have to glyphosate. I have attached the direct link to Cyndi’s letter below. All you have to do is copy and paste the letter contents into an email or print and send via snail mail but making sure you sign the letter off as being from yourself.

Cyndi states that “you send these letters because the more people that do this, the more they will have to take notice!  We have more power as a collective group, and we need each and every one of you to make a difference.”

This is the link to the download entitled ‘Activism can take many forms” with links to scientific studies, videos and articles to become better informed.

You can also download a letter you can send to the HERE.
